Nice. Also like the comment about the Metro escalator. The Metro station at CGD Etoile has some kind of escalator or motor the makes the most wonderful rhythmical whooshing sound. It's my favourite. Next time I'm there I'm going to record it.

Wow! Your studio really gets an amazing recording sound! This is the sound I hear in my head when I read Inayat Khan's essays. ;) What instrument is the vocalist playing here? The note says "dautara" but I don't know this instrument... Is this specific to Rajastani music?

No one delivered the complete Truth of a piece quite like Karajan. Occasionally, Sir Adrian Boult, but always, Karajan. Some conductors love the score. Karajan loved building a world of sound and telling a story. It made all the difference.

@earthatic The superfast vibrato in the flutes and oboe is usually Philadelphia Orchestra - Eugene Ormandy. It's a trademark vibrato thing for the Curtis Institute players. Just a guess.
