Ohai! I just got the first Halo game this weekend and although I didn't play that much I have to agree with you, it's frickin' awesome! Metroid is, and will always be my favourite out of the two but people need to stop this stupid fanboy war and play both games instead. Because they're great. I was actually surprised over how green and ALIVE everything looks in the second stage or so. The reason I normally avoid the FPS genre is because everything has to be brown and full of shitty ass restrictions to simulate "realism". It's got a great learning curve and it's fun as hell to spray bullets at everything that moves.

Well, there's a lot more than what you summarised that ruined the game, I'm planning to make a longer review/rant/discussion that I will upload as a deviantArt journal, but it will take some time as there is a LOT that I think ruins the game. I will naturally also point out what they could have done differently, and what I would have done in Team Ninja's seat instead to improve the game (performing seppuku, for starters). Since I'm an artist too, I've wanted to make my own Metroid comic series, describing how I would continue the franchise after the events of Fusion. You interested? I might start this up sometime around summer.

Wow, you like both Halo AND Metroid? That's really cool! I have an Xbox 360, but I don't really play much, I have like, BK Nuts and Bolts, Blue Dragon and Conker Live and Reloaded (though a friend of mine borrowed it). I'm more of a Metroid fan, but I'm open minded towards Halo as I haven't played or seen much of it at all. There is a classmate of mine who is an EXTREME Halo fanboy and there's a fierce rivalry going on between us about the franchises, but it's more of an act, really. Neither of us 'hates' the other franchise, it's more of a stereotypical inside joke in our class. I've been planning to get hold of the Halo trilogy for a while, but I'm kindof broke at the moment as I very recently bought an accordion and my bank account is pretty much depleted XD

Oh you bet, I like the way you think! You seem like a really cool dude. I really love to go out of my way to bust the logic and nitpick games I generally dislike, which often sadly brings out my raging inner troll at times and sends me a bit overboard, although I'm doing my best to at least sound intelligent and in the better cases, buy the game/product I'm complaining about. It's the only reason I got Other M and Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, to justify my distaste. It may sound rotten, but I'm a perfectionist, and as a future game designer, I need to point out the errors in games today so I won't make them myself.
