South Side Day Nursery

Located in South St. Louis City, SSDN (formerly South Side Day Nursery) was founded in 1886 by 15 Unitarian women to care for young children while their parents were at work. SSDN continues its original mission today, supporting the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development needs of children ages six weeks to six years in its Learning Center. Licensed by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and accredited by Missouri Accreditation, we provide a safe, nurturing, educational environment for 100 children year round. We welcome children with special needs and make sure they get the care and resources they need while including them fully in the classroom. Our preschool is a Head Start center offering excellent preparation for kindergarten. We offer a holistic approach that helps a child reach his or her full potential.
