We are trapped within ourselves..
November 2004
The Soulpit project take its form in Padua (Italy). The members of the first line-up were Enrico Francescato (vocals), Enrico Zabeo (bass), the axemen Alessio Mazzucato and Lorenzo Canella and the drummer Sebastiano Sartorello. The band got different influences, from hard rock to the most extreme metal, but Soulpit are bound by the love for the European Death Metal.
2005
Live action starts and soon came the time to give life to their own ideas. During March the guitarist Alessio Mazzucato leaves the band, he gets replaced by the ex-Trasos Federico Guerra. Afterward the Band is contacted to gig with Dismember and Coram Lethe at the Italian BrutalitY fair tour 2005 in Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza-IT).
2006
During February the band starts the recording of their first MCD "Trapped into the Soulpit", containing 6 songs. The release took place at LaGabbia music club (VI - Italy) on 17 March 2006 getting a very good response and good reviews from both italian and foreign magazines and webzines, obtaining the title of Top Demo in the december issue of the magazine "Grind Zone". Drummer Sebastiano is contacted by the American extreme-drumming website www.sickdrummer.com which publishes his personal profile, the MCD is passed through lots of underground Metal Radios.
2007
Soulpit keeps promoting their name and MCD with an intense live action, meeting and getting in touch with lots of other bands. The writing process of the new material about their debut album is slowed down by new line-up changes. The axeman Federico leaves the band during May, he get replaced by Enrico Onofri, who is already member of a band called Shattered. After few months Enrico becomes a full effect member of Soulpit.
2008
Soulpit take part to the prestigious contest Metal Battle. Conquering the Final round, they play during July at Evolution Festival, one of the greatest italian metal festival. The writing of the Debut Album is almost done. After taking more conscience of themselves, Soulpit are ready to put in evidence their character and style, grown with the band's members in 4 years of sacrifices and love for Metal.
2009
After 3 months of hard pre-production work, Soulpit enter the studio for the official sessions of the new album by the end of April. The recordings take place between Studio 73 (as to concerns drums, vocals, mix and master) and Rocket Booster Studio (as to concerns guitars and bass).
The Cd is titled Substantial and contains 11 songs.
In September Enrico Onofri was replaced by the guitarist Mauro Azzalin who is also known for his great work in his other bands: Fear Flames and Nowhere.
2010
Soulpit reach a deal with Sweet Poison Records to release their debut album.
Substantial, through the commistion of different musical genres, paints a complex sensation canvas, that shifts from pure rage, to quietness passing among resignation, anxiety and hope.
The album is released by Sweet Poison Records and powered by Self and Twilight Vetrieb distribution.
