About this user
The Soul Development Group (Leeds) run a range of projects to inspire a love of life.
Project 1. Soul2Feet is a dynamic arts in education project that promotes awareness of different African based cultures, using music, song & dance.
Through performances and participatory workshops, we stimulate understanding of different traditional songs and dances from West Africa, Cuba and Brazil.
Working with LEA's - Schools, youth groups, community groups, disabled people, town managers & training events.
Live musical performances and demonstrations for whole school assemblies and special events are also available upon request.
Project 2: Soul2Samba. Samba drumming gets everyone involved in a dynamic, fun, and educational activity. Samba music is for everyone.
It's rewarding to become part of a large group of people ceating a unified 'groove' or 'rhythm'. We hold various courses at various times and hold weekly workshops for beginners.
We can provide all instruments and tuition for workshops for your company, organization, or school.
Project 3: Soul2Sing-a_Long. Step back in time with us to enjoy a nostalgic 1940s wartime sing-a-long workshop.
Our workshops recreate the feeling of the British wartime spirit, and enable participants to recount memories and stories from the Second World War. They are guaranteed to get everyone moving and engaging with each other.
Our clients include social services day centers, sheltered housing, retirement homes, pensioners clubs and in and around the Yorkshire region.
Project 4: Soul2Dance. Our new and exciting free-flowing movement practice. It is designed to promote health and well-being for the mind, body and spirit using movement meditation. It has been developed with significant research in tribal African dance, Afro-Cuban dances of Orisha, 5 Rhythms ecstatic dance, movement medicine and shamanic dance practice. We will hold workshops throughout the city of Leeds from September 2009. See our website for updates.
