The performance of this aria ever, ever, and ever. It remains thrilling and fresh to this day, 40 years after I first heard it....

The first opera I ever saw was Beverly Sills performing Norma in Hartford CT. in 1971. It was an amazing performance and it made me a Sills and an opera fanatic from that day forward. I don't remember Norma as having seizures but her acting always made a performance by Sills all the more thrill...

I don't think Miss Sills gets the recognition she deserves as one of our greatest sopranos of the twentieth century. Thank you for this rarity. It reveals Sills at her best ...always bringing true emotion to the character thru the color of the voice and thru the music.

Thank you so much for this compilation...it reminds me of just how unbelievable Joan Sutherland was and how much I love her and how much we will miss her. There just isn't anyone that even approaches her....on any level.
