The critically-acclaimed choreographer / dancer / teacher Soraia Zaied became well known worldwide for her own magnificent and unique style of belly dancing.
Since she was a little child she was already in love with dance, music, theatre and user to dance for her parents and friends.
At 9 years of age she started studying classical ballet and in 1990 she was introduced to belly dance and folkloric Egyptian dance, at that time she learned the secrets do folkloric Egyptian dance with Tia Cecy, the president of the Brazilian Association of Egyptian Culture, and performed initially in charity events.
In 1992 she was deeply in love and completely addicted to belly dance.
No long after she started performing at exhibitions, fairs and other events she was invited to work at well known tea house in São Paulo, Khan el Khalili as a ballerina and teacher, very shortly after that was already an icon in Brazil, creating an entire generation of ballerinas, admirers and followers of her style of dance.
Nevertheless being one of the top belly dancers in Brazil of all times she wisely managed her career ant in the year 2000 she was discovered by Raqia Hassan, one of the most respected and recognized choreographer / teacher in the world, founder of the Ahlan Wa Sahlan International Belly Dance Festival.
Soraia was influenced and inspires by Raqia's talent, therefore she became her master and fairy godmother, responsible for making the dream come true, to dance in the most disputed stage in the world, the cradle of belly dancing secrets, Egypt.
Nowadays Soraia's performances and techniques are studied for ballerinas all over the world especially for her fantastic, precise, powerful, smooth rip movements, also for the extraordinary formula developed by Soraia, which is a mixture of Arabic and Brazilian dance movements.
At the moment Soraia Zaied performs at the biggest hotels and events in Cairo and also gives lessons and workshops around the globe. She is also one of the main stars to present at the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival, organized by Raqia Hassan.
She has made her mark in the belly dance history and definitely can write her name in the book of the biggest Arab World Stars.
