I love this episode! Victor Hugo is one of my favorite authors, but then again, I like pretty much all the French Romantics. We read some Victor Hugo in my English class this year, and it really loses something in translation. Il faut qu'on lise ses romans en français!

I remember watching this in my seventh grade English class when we read the Odyssey. I wish more English teachers would show these, because it really helped my class understand the story.

This just made my day. Jane Austen is my favorite author!

I forgot all about this episode!!! I love it so much more now, because I was in Gounod's opera of Faust, and it's fun to see a story I know done with a cute little JRT.

Madeline Kahn was absolutely brilliant. Nobody can even come close to her comedic genius.

The show was so much better when Eric was witty and sarcastic. In the later episodes, he's really just idiotic and insufferable.

Hilarious! That's what I love about this show: there are so many subtle jokes. You could watch this a dozen times and notice a new joke each time. Try doing that with today's Disney Channel shows! Man, why can't all kids' shows be subtle and witty ...

Beautiful, talented, sweet, and absolutely delightful! Madeline Kahn was one incredible woman. Such a shame that she died so young.
