With a name paying tribute to his West Indian musical roots, singer, songwriter, saxophonist and poet, Sonny Montrose bursts onto the scene with a project bringing a fresh new face and vibe to Dance/Electronica music. Vocally and instrumentally trained in Jazz and Classical music with a degree in Jazz Studies and Commercial Music, Sonny merges his musical skill and crafty lyrics with the exciting beats by hot new mixologist DJ Narga and Producer DJ Bryski to bring you his debut album, the self-titled EP 'Sonny Montrose'. Due out later this spring.
Sonny, in collaboration with Red Sound Studios and Hestia Records, released the first single 'Cold Heart Hotel', on April 1st, now available on iTunes and Amazon MP3. Cold Heart Hotel has a throwback feel to it and dances on the fringe of Pop, blending nicely with the traditional Dance feel. Video coming soon... Highlighting the party life and the club atmosphere, the follow-up single 'Intoxicated', due out early May is sure to be a party anthem for summer 2K11.
The release of 'Cold Heart Hotel' and subsequently the EP 'Sonny Montrose' is the start of a campaign to develop a fan base and a following in order to secure a recording deal from a major label. Well versed in many genres of music, including Reggae, Jazz and R&B, look forward to hearing the many sides of Sonny.
