Email, IM, PM, call, talk to, write, MSN, etc.--CONTACT your US Representative and Senator and tell them that you OPPOSE SOPA ( H.R. 3261) and the Senate bill PIPA (S. 968). Tell them that you might VOTE AGAINST them if they vote for it or are in favor of it. It is opposed by ALL people in the online and computer industry. 90+% of all those who know about it oppose it!!
If it passes, it will greatly endanger the web. It would mean that ANYbody could say that ANY site had some "copyrighted" material on it and, without warning or any "due process of law" (guaranteed by our Constitution) the site could be shut down and the operators arrested for 5 years WITHOUT ANY sort of trial. It would mean that because of ONE user or commentator on a website saying something that somebody might think constitutes a copyright violation, the whole site could close. It would mean the end of the internet as we know it. It would HORRIBLY punish many innocent to get a few guilty of online piracy.
It has been said that despite the numbers thrown around about how many jobs are being lost and millions of dollars in revenue disappearing, those numbers are wishful thinking: IF everyone who EVER downloaded something had to pay full price for it, it COULD be large numbers, but MANY WOULD NOT pay for it if they had to, they would do without it instead.
The bill would end the net as we know it. There would be NO more PICTURES, TRIBUTES, SONGS, MOVIES, etc.
This would include classic movies. It would rob people of free speech (1st amendment right). Certain companies and Hollywood want it so they can shut all classic movie lovers (and others) down. ALL computer and internet people and companies hate the bill.
If you can't vote yourself, tell your parents, friends, neighbors, etc.--EVERYONE YOU KNOW--to tell your congresspeople to vote AGAINST it!! If it passes, it will be in direct violation of what "We the People" want!!
Remind Congress that they are supposed to do what we the people want, NOT what a few big companies want!!
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! MAKE CONGRESS BEND TO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE, NOT COMPANIES!
PASS THIS ON!!

Yes, if you access my channel a certain way, you will see a background of Tuesday Weld. You can't be creative with it is what I dislike. It just looks so blah! But I can't so anything so I'll just have to suck it up. (; Thanks, I took it when I went on TCM's Classic Cruise.

Jazz musicians at the time like Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton, and Willie "The Lion" Smith were very talented and competitive, and were considered to have laid the foundation for future musicians of their genre.
