@jrojeck Freshly killed smell more living to a snake and might have a better chance of being eaten. Frozen is even more humane though, since they kill by gas. Frozen also kills the possible sicknesses on the mice. I'd say they're pretty equal, though killing them might not be for weak hearted.

It's not 'dead' per-say. As its brain is keeping it muscles working. However it can't think straight and feels nothing, as it has no blood flow.

People asking dumb questions. Duh it 'survived'. It's in captivity. They can live like that for just as long as any other snake of its species. In the wild, though, it is extremely rare to have one survive. It has two brains and has two personalities(but considering that they are identical twins....
