Sonic Erotica is a Future-Pop, live-performance, outfit made up of four very distinct individuals. Each brings his own flavor to the table. Together, they exude a culmination of tribal/funk drumming, textural guitar riffs, atmospheric synth beds, and languid vocal passages. Poetic and sensual, the band's music and hypnotic beats speak to the hearts and minds of its listeners, luring patrons ever deeper into the psychosensual enigma that is Sonic Erotica.

Sonic Erotica began in 1995, a mid to late nineties contemporary Rock/Ambient musical ensemble, in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, which consisted of military and musical veterans Brian Stevenson (Fornikulture, Graveyard Poets, Zepton Groove, TripkiT, Moneyshot); Tony Orifici (Prells, Shining Star, Richard Marx, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie); and Todd Smith (New Earth, Red Tape, Fornikulture).

Sonic Erotica accumulated a following of approximately 1000 loyal fans or groupies dubbed "The Saturnalien Groovenauts," or simply Groovenauts. Throughout 1995 to 1997, Sonic Erotica played venues from the historic Ybor City, in Tampa, to St. Armands Key, in Sarasota. The band released their debut CD "ONE" in Mid-1996 at the now defunct venue, "The Big Catch," in St. Petersburg, FL. Sonic Erotica, which had moderated success throughout Florida, also gained radio airtime notoriety at Clear Channel Communication's 98.7 Rock (WXTB-FM) in the Tampa Bay area. Songs like "Lament," "Mirrorman," "Odyssey," and "Out There" have proven to be strong favorites within the Groovenaut community, who referred to Sonic Erotica as a "Psychosensual Entity."
