Guitar Hero demystifies the art and beauty of music, corrupts people's perception of music, and every year it sprouts thousands of sad little guitar zombies that worship Dragon-force and Escape the Fate. Notes of a certain pitch played at certain intervals in the company of, and in relation to, other instruments and/or singers; the games remove the mystery of music, for musicians and listeners alike. Although the consumers claim it to be fun or entertaining, (possibly addicting) it might actually have negative effects. GH forces the consumer to buy expensive game discs, a console, and in some cases separate "guitar" controllers. All the money accumulated in the game is more than enough money to supply one with an actual guitar or base. GH is just a big chunk of plastic with a set of five big buttons in the shape of frets, nothing like strings. They randomly represent different chords and notes, with no sense of high and low notes. (Pathetic)With all the competition in the virtual instrument business, other band games have been released to the public and more people learn how to become lazy and are taught that any one can become a "guitar hero" or they can start a "rock band". False hopes and blind consumers lead to people with close minded ideas of what music is and people who don't appreciate other instruments. (Work is currently underway on the newest, most realistic Guitar Hero game yet. The developers say that this game will not require a game console or a computer, and it will be expandable to include an almost infinite number of songs without having to purchase additional software) GH has taught the youth that if it's hard to play on GH hero than it's a better song (knowing a band by only the song it has in guitar hero doesn't make you look good either)
Music with heavier distortion, faster tempo, and wide note length is now considered the ideal choice for music and is poisoning the youth. The youth needs to be taught that real guitar heroes played baritone acoustics with .12 gauge strings and no picks, they used musical theory to compose there music and made original compositions too. Does GH let you play Mozart, Chopin, or Paganini? Jimmy Page, Jason Becker, Lawson Rollins, the pioneers of virtuoso guitar playing don't conform to GH unlike other popular sell-outs Aero-smith, Metallica, Green Day. (The Jackson estate owns much of the Beatles song rights and so I don't blame Paul or Ringo) Our society has moved to an easier way of life, we now have machines to make our life easier, machines to create machines. The real beauty of being a musician and playing an instrument is the feeling you get after dedicating so much time to learning how it works and applying the correct principles to make it happen. When you finally get it after all that hard work, it's an amazing discovery that triggers you to strive harder and learn more. Even after playing a long session of Guitar Hero, you still haven't learned anything about musical theory or the joys of playing a real instrument.
