howdy folks. Kit "stymee" Stovepipe here. this is a channel where I upload videos and music from way back when and from way back right now. sometimes it'll be a live performance or a short subject... or something from my 78 collection.
About Me:

my name is Kit, I play in a Band called the Crow Quill Night Owls, I sometimes play with other groups, I collect (mostly) pre war blues, jazz, and hillbilly records, I collect original smut ( or erotica if you want to get high brow about it) from the 1860's to the 1930's, Im into old surreal cartoons, comix, old films (like Georges Melies!) , but I also think modern pop music is some of the best comedy of our time. I like art from hieronymus bosch right on through to the covers of pulp magizines from the 1940's.
I've never used anything stronger than water for a chaser, I have two big toes on my right foot, and I was once employed by PBS as a personal body guard for Leon Trotsky.
Hometown:
Port Townsend, WA
Country:
United States
Occupation:
Musician
Interests:
music, art, and film from the 1920's and 1930's
Movies:
top five would be, the adventures of baron munchausen, City lights, Meet John Doe, Louie Bluie, and any film by Georges Melies (he made so many great films... hard to pick just one) .
Music:
I have so many, but to keep it short, the most influential ones are the Memphis Jug Band,Blind Blake, Charley Patton,Mississippi John Hurt, dock Boggs, Charlie Poole, Dick Justice, Jimmie Rodgers, Bennie Moten, Tiny Parham, James P. Johnson, and a lot of obscure Jazz bands that unfortunately only recorded one or two sides like the Musical Stevedores, Roy Johnson's Happy Pals, or Jesse Stone's Blues Serenaders.
Books:
I highly recommend Jitterbug Perfume, Le Premier Pornographe (1850's-1920's), the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, and where dead voices gather.
