Hey, what's good YouTube. My name is Shaquille Edwards. I am a 17 year old rapper trying to make a difference in the music industry. I've been writing music for about 4 years now and it hasn't been that long since I've been going public with my music. I'm here on YouTube to show the world what I can do. I've noticed a lot of rappers/singers think that music only has certain topics, such as weed, money, sex, girls, cockiness, etc. Now I'm not discriminating against any of these topics or the people that tend to rap about these subjects because I have a few rappers I look up to that will rap about those subjects. I just prefer to write songs about everyday life. Problems that happen in this world all the time. But there's a secret way I do my music too. I tie today's music into every day problems that way my music won't be boring. What I mean by that is I can write a song entitled a certain thing but have the meaning of the song in a total different desire. For example, I have a new song coming soon called "Ain't Touchin My Swagg". When you first read the title, I'm sure you're going to think this is just another rapper bragging about his appearance. But that's not the case here. The song is really about people hating on the way I present myself and the way I do things so I believe they're just mad that they aren't touchin' my swagg. Sounds like an everyday thing to me. People do tend to hate 24/7. See? Music doesn't ALWAYS have to be about having sex with a girl or how much money you got or anything like that. REAL people that make REAL money doesn't brag about what's real or what they have. When I write music, I write it in a way that other people can understand. I write about situations that people can relate to. I believe it's one of the best ways to get anyone interested in my music or anyone elses music. I don't want to take up too much of your time reading this section but I do want to let ya'll know that I accept criticism fully. Right now, I live in a small town called Liberty, which is located in Missouri and most people here like my music. I mean, that is good but at the same time it's not. I need criticism as a guide to help me become a better artist and the way I write and perform my music. Now I know there are some plain haters out there and I can understand them. They have no life and nothing better else to do but hate on people who are trying to be successful. No problem with me because without haters, I have no motivation. Anyways, I would like you guys to SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT if you like. Positive or negative. I also encourage you haters to comment too. so I stay motivated. Again, I take criticism to the fullest instinct. I just want to accomplish my dream of becoming a famous rapper/hip hop artist and show everyone what I can do.
