... A visit to Solent Gardeners Fayre has become a must for all keen gardeners and craft enthusiasts. With over 70 exhibitors, free car parking, brass band & children's entertainment, refreshments and excellent conveniences and Health & Safety facilities, the Fayre provides an excellent day out for all the family. All proceeds go to charities supported by Rotary.

Car Parking
A large free car parking area with attendant control is adjacent to the Fayre
A free train service operated by Trigger the Train is available all day to convey visitors to and from various points in the car park to the Fayre entrance
A drop point is provided for disabled visitors to alight vehicles close to the entrance gate

Refreshments
A large table and chairs area will be situated next to the main catering marquee, which will be serving a variety of refreshments at very reasonable prices including sandwiches, cakes, burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, tea, coffee, and soft drinks together with a licensed bar

Solent Kite Flyers
As with previous years, we are pleased to announce that the very popular Solent Kite Flyers will again be at the Fayre providing demonstrations of kite flying and giving children the opportunity to make and then fly their own kites (adults too of course!!)

Creative Capers
Let Amy Jones put a smile on your face with her imaginative face painting skills

Safety and Conveniences
St Johns Ambulance Services will be at the Fayre to provide qualified medical assistance if required
Toilet facilities including provision for the disabled will be available within the grounds of the Fayre

Exhibitor & visitor comments at the 2010 Fayre opened by Roy Lancaster

Katie's Greenhouse :-

"I'd like to say how lovely it was to see you all again and to meet Roy Lancaster (after many years of reading his books, etc.)

Inspired by Roy and other plant-hunters, I trained in botany and ecology and worked as a botanical surveyor for many years, before retraining in horticulture & garden design... So you can see what a thrill it was for me to finally get to talk with him :)

Roy came to see our display and mentioned that my favourite plant, "Aquilegia chrysantha", that I grow on our small nursery is one of his favourites too and he actually mentioned it during the "opening ceremony". It always sells well, but this year we were overjoyed to have it endorsed by Roy and, as he was leaving, I gave him one of the Aquilegias.

It was certainly the best fayre we have ever had and we all really enjoyed the day."

Amy Jones CREATIVE CAPERS:-

"This was my first year (not as a visitor!) at the Gardeners Fayre and found it to be a lovely experience. The organisation was brilliant with clear instructions and communication. The weather was great which always helps! although a little hot at times I hope the many children who had their faces painted or sported a pretty temporary tattoo helped to enhance the relaxed and happy atmosphere. I look forward to coming again next year!"
