Broken Promises
Have you ever heard of the saying Promises are meant to be kept?
It's something we keep in our hearts to awaken but instead it slept.
Promises are vows that people give to each other so that they can keep.
but some promises were broken and died away to sleep. For example:
You promised me you wouldn't leave me... but you still walked away.
Apart of me died and now has been astray.Who cares? Not you... if
you didnt want to stay then you shouldn't have promised.
You promised that you would let me see something better than i used to see.
But instead you showed me sadness,pain,deception,and misery.
You promised that you loved me and would be with me forever.
The only thing you did was play with my heart until it severed.
BUT there are some promises that i have broken.
I promised that if i was heartbroken again then i wouldn't even
try to seek or find love.
It found me anyways. Maybe i thought it was a sign from above.
I promised that I wouldn't find trouble.
Here I am still going back and forth on the double.
I promised myself that maybe this year would be different.
But im still trapped in my on lies and content.
I promised that I wouldnt let the same thing happen twice.
But here i am still walking on thin ice.
I promised this year that i will find peace and happiness
But all I find is confusion and deceitfulness
Even though the promises that were made have been broken
but maybe some will be kept only they were chosen.
