Swedish mezzo-soprano Sofie Almroth began her musical training at two of Scandinavia's most renowned music schools, receiving awards of musical excellence from both institutions. She spent a year in the USA and studied musicology before graduating with honours from Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.
Notable performances on the opera stage include Second Boy in Die Zauberflöte (Dalhalla, Sweden) and Jette in Der Vogelhändler (Stockholm Operetta Ensemble).
She has also appeared as a soloist in oratorios, symphonies and cantatas by Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Mendelssohn, de Falla, Pärt, Pergolesi, Beethoven, Andriessen, etc.
Her voice has been the subject for compositions by Ella Jarman-Pinto and Gittan Glans and she has sung with conductors such as Fabio Biondi, Robin Browning, Simon Wills and Gintaras Rinkevičius.
Sofie also combines a passion for Latin-American dances with her passion for singing through several interesting projects including Almroth-Hormazábal Duo.

Swedish mezzo-soprano Sofie Almroth began her musical training at two of Scandinavia's most renowned choral schools, Adolf Fredriks Musiklasser and Stockholms Musikgymnasium, receiving awards of musical excellence from both institutions. She then spent a year in the USA, studied the latin languages and musicology at the Stockholm University, upon which she graduated with honours from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, supported by Stiftelsen Emma & Erik Granes Minne, Anna Whitlocks Minnesfond and Rune Ljungdahls Stiftelse.Her engagements as a concert soloist has mainly been focused around Scandinavia and the UK with occasional performances in Germany and USA. She has appeared in oratorios, symphonies and cantatas by Mozart, Bach, Mendelssohn, de Falla, Pärt (at the age of 17), Beethoven, and is one of the youngest singers to have performed the modern classic De Staat by Andriessen.
Notable performances on the opera stage include Second Boy in Die Zauberflöte (Dalhalla Opera Festival, 2010), Jette in Der Vogelhändler (Stockholm Operetta Ensemble, 2005) and countless opera scenes both at Guildhall and in Sweden.
She has sung with some of the foremost choral conductors in the world and as a soloist she has worked with Fabio Biondi, Robin Browning, Simon Wills, Gintaras Rinkevičius, amongst others.
A regular performer of contemporary music, Sofie's voice has been the subject for compositions by Ella Jarman-Pinto and Gittan Glans.
Sofie enjoys immersing herself in different cultures and her Swedish/Chilean duo Almroth-Hormazábal Duo is gaining reputation in Scandinavia, where they mainly perform. Within the sphere of Hispanic music she has also performed with the salsa band Zands Collective, Cuban pianist Eralys Fernandez, Cuban guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas.
