[The Name]

"Sneko" originates from the word "Strawberry" and the Japanese word for "Cat" which is pronounced as "Neko". It was created during a time when I was very much obsessed with Tokyo Mew Mew and is a direct reference to the main character, Ichigo.

In Japanese, it is written as スねこ (Suneko), using both katakana (for "Su") and hiragana (for "Neko") to signify that the "Su" is not of Japanese origin, and shouldn't be regarded as such, and to show that the name itself is a conjunction of two different languages.

The name was originally a way for people to refer to me on a message board without having to go through the trouble of typing "Strawberry Neko" and to avoid any confusion that could've aroused had they only used the former or the latter of the two. Eventually, the nickname stuck and it was only natural to call me as such, thus my "stage name" was born.
