I think people should be free to believe what they want, so I'm not suggesting a ban on certain books or anything like that. What I want to see is law enforcement authorities and government agencies examining the questionable activities of the Church of Scientology and its related organizations. There are reports coming from current and former Scientologists of extensive corruption in the Church of Scientology, particularly at its higher levels. Human rights abuses occur with alarming frequency in the Church of Scientology. This organization is supposed to help people, but all too often, Scientologists become the victims of Scientology.

Our police and other institutions cannot be everywhere at once, so they do not always know about crimes occurring behind closed doors. Abuses are being committed by the Church of Scientology, but they are likely to continue unless a public outcry prompts an investigation.

The Lawrence Brennan Affidavit (May 6, 2008) has been submitted to the government agency that requested it. There are many people with first-hand knowledge of abuses who are willing to assist authorities with an investigation.
