Slavic Arts Ensemble

The Slavic Arts Ensemble was founded in 1977 by Mieczyslaw Gubernat, a former orchestra member of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet of Poland, with the intent of presenting little-known Polish and Slavic compositions to American audiences. Since its successful debut at the Ukrainian Institute of America in New York, the Slavic Arts Ensemble has won the hearts of audiences. The initial series of Birthday Concerts, featuring the music of Polish composers, performed at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York, inspired the Ensemble to expand its repertoire. Today, the Ensemble performs music that encompasses many eras and styles, as well as original works created expressly for them by contemporary composers.
