CTI Favorites The CTI record label was my bridge from fusion to mainstream jazz. Listening to The Mahavisnhu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Weather Report, Headhunters etc. I found many of the musicians in those bands on some of the CTI albums. From there I found the classic jazz albums that the CTI roster had played on, Miles, Bluenote records etc...

Bitches Brew A landmark album by Miles that took me sometime to appreciate. Very organic with the essence of improvisation at it's core, an essential element found in all great Jazz. Miles was always looking ahead, not wanting to live in the past, finding great young musicians to make his visions proliferate. How many of the people on this album became greats on their own!

Welcome to my channel. I've been playing music for as long as I can remember and it has brought much joy in my life. Having been able to pursue a career in something I love has been a gift. Not reaching the goals that I aspire to, I continue to work on becoming a better musician. Playing with and listening to some great musicians over the years keeps my passion for music alive. My goal as a musician is to play music that will inspire and motivate listeners to possibly find some kind of peace and fulfillment in their lives. In my favorites you will find some of the musicians that have done that for me. My drumming videos feature me playing in a particular groove, tempo, time signature, or song form without many preconceived ideas, just letting things happen. I'm also uploading some of the music that I have written adding photos that I've taken & some found on the internet. The music is not finished, mostly rough drafts in need of performers other than myself and improvisation to make them complete. I hope you enjoy! Peace, Sam
