Nothing but pure Strauss at 4:05, the old "Strauss Magic."

The melodies in this movement are sublimely phrased and beautifully shaped. Truly a superb piece of craftsmanship on Strauss' part.

Notice at 3:56 one of the choir members strikes a tuning fork and quickly places it to his ear to try to catch his reference pitch. The piece is tough to sing, trying to keep your unique part on pitch in the tonal mass and not get too sloppy.
