This does look cruel, but one thing is for certain: the parents' intentions are good. You'll have to understand mandarin to hear this. Listen to what they are saying, and the tone of their voices. They are obviously torn over this. It's like your parents watching your leg get amputated after a ma...

Live performance of this piece? Just search on youtube. Off the top of my head, I know Roman Simovic and Liviu Prunaru both have videos of live performances, and there are many others. You don't have to sound as if this piece is "impossible" to play live.

David Garrett Sarasate Introduktion & Tarantella Hannover

David Garrett plays Sarasate in Hannover 21st May. The pianist is Milana Chernyavska.

    SkrPchr3 SkrPchr3 commented:

Why does he always look to his right when he plays? Is he winking at a particular girl in the audience? If he focused more on playing, and less on looking around, then he might have given a better performance. Here he just winged it, a very half-hearted attempt, honestly a pretty bad performance ...

Understandable, but my view is: If the piece is too difficult technique-wise, then I choose an easier piece, or modify the piece to make it easier. I would rather give a clean polished performance of an easy piece, rather than stumble through a challenging piece with out-of-tune ...

It depends on what you are comparing this to. I wouldn't call it "horrible," it's definitely a professional violinist playing this (either that or a very good student). But it's certainly not a top-notch soloist. Also it sounds like the violinist CAN play better, but got a little lazy...

This might be news for some, but David Garrett has never been the "fastest." Guinness isn't always correct.

You can find the free music on IMSLP, you know that? Google "imslp," go there and search for Vivaldi, then look for his concerto in g minor (Op. 8). Sue Son actually simplified the notes. At 0:36 to 0:47, it's not repetitive notes. It's actually string-crossing over 3 strings, and a little tricky...
