Skool of dead is a one man death metal band. It is solely undertaken n manged by a 14 yr old boy from India. The music is a blend of Melodic Death Metal with symphonic influences and incorporates the melancholy of goth n doom n stoner metal. Also the genre has some avant-garde metal sound to it too.

Influences range from Death Metal bands like Behemoth, Nile, melodic death metal bands like Demonic Resurrection and Soilwork, symphonic black metal bands like Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir and also gothic metal bands like Lacuna Coil and Type O Negative. The sound incorporates death growls and part gothic part grunge clean vocals.

First thing first, it all started out as a hobby. It is one of the first solo Death Metal project by a High school student. This mayhem took birth when Debojyoti was on a holiday from his boarding school and tried to use some audio editing software to make soundtrack kinda thing for his boring scenery slideshows. Then he realized his gifted death growl powers. And then started the helluva bloody thing: the heavily distorted guitars, string ensembles and the pleasing death sound of the pianos.

I have been hearing metal from just one and a half year and then a bit of research bout its subgenres and going thru the pages of metal cult magazine Rock Street Journal was enough to provoke the monster in me

Live shows are absent due to a lack of band members. But true devotion and love for this genre can turn everything to metal. And so happened to me.

Influence: Behemoth, Textures, Demonic Resurrection, Cradle of Filth, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Type O Negative, Lacuna Coil, Linkin Park, System of a Down, Slipknot, Bhayanak Maut and other such Symphonic Death and Gothic Metal bands.
