About this user

Over the past few years music production has become a hobby of mine. It began with copyrighting 18 songs and learning as much as I could about the music industry. During this time I briefly owned and operated an independent Record Label (REAL SYNDICATE RECORDS) which I discontinued to help pursue my personal goals. Since then (over the past year) I've been producing my own music. My main focus at first was compositions rather than just beats (try thinking of the musical compositions you hear in movies) but since I am a beginner I am experimenting with a number of genres. My plans are to write lyrics to my own music and try publishing my songs (selling rights for them to be performed; the goal being to ultimately lease, sell, or perform these works myself. Or collaborate with other artists - a musician, singer, or lyricist). Just think of it this way - in today's industry artists are merely performers or employees (which is sad). The "art" of being a musician is vanishing; it is becoming more common to be a performer than to think about music as one of the arts. It's rare "musicians" even write their own lyrics let alone take part in the creative or production process (think of David Guetta, he is a very experienced producer who writes lyrics to his songs and in turn have been leased to Akon, Kid Cudi, and the Black Eyed Peas amongst others. Although my focus is hip hop, alternative, and music for media (TV and film) at this point it would prove useless to limit myself to certain genres. Therefore, I experiment regularly with different sounds and styles purely for learning purposes and to explore other avenues. At this time my main focus is putting together a full song (a beat by itself is NOTHING and they are far too many people selling and leasing beats). Feedback, thoughts, questions, and suggestions are always welcome.

AS OF FALL 2011 I HAVE BEGUN WORKING ON SEVERAL PROJECTS (A BOOK, SEVERAL BUSINESS PLANS, AND MORE). THEREFORE MY TIME IN THE STUDIO IS LIMITED OR ON HOLD AS I AM TRYING TO FINISH SEVERAL OF THESE PROJECTS BY THE END OF THE YEAR.
