The problem of pressing each button 5 times to open the door can be helped with some pistons shoving a block over a part where the wires go a block up/down, so the wires are still there but can't connect anymore. It will require an additional 5 RS-NOR latches and a lot of extra wiring though.

@face612 I agree they don't have to be into the RAM memory unless being viewed but they will always have to be in the storage memory to load them into RAM. It works great for being able to view the detail without overloading your RAM but it doesn't help storing the info into the storage memory.
