About Me:
n 1997, they passed audition for 'For Life Records' and came to Tokyo. Started regular live concerts at Yokota American base. (27 years since the last Japanese show at Yokota American Base) Then, debuted with single "For me" in 1998. They started being talked about on the music scene and soon, in 1999, their breakthrough single "Shake" came out. "DOUBLE", the name was getting known by many people. Since 2000,TAKAKO, one of DOUBLE members, has started working solo, as "DOUBLE".
As a solo artist, TAKAKO released singles "handle", "U" and "Angel",this one is from her album"double". "Angel" had been on radio's heavy rotation which helped with the sales of "double"'s album. TAKAKO went on a club tour called 'DOUBLE Club Tour 2001 - With U' in 18 different places including Seoul.15,000 people attended her gigs throughout the tour.
In June 2002, year and a half since the last single, she released double A side "Driving All Night/ You Got To". It marked the 6th position at the Oricon Chart in the first week of its release and proved her ability and popularity as a singer. Following single release of "Who's That Girl" marked the 9th at the Oricon. 2 singles in a row got into Top 10.
In October 2002, she released a big hit album entitled "VISION", which got to the 3rd position at the Oricon in the first week of its release. The first serious, full-scale tour "DOUBLE First Tour-LIVE VISION" promoting this album became a great success. At the beginning of 2003, TAKAKO released "THE BEST VISION Of DOUBLE" - a DVD collection of her music videos and previously unreleased material. It had exceptionally good sales for a DVD partly because of TAKAKO's beautiful appearance, which attracts both men and women and the video's high quality visuals. Following the DVD's success, the singles "Rollin' on" and "destiny"were sold as CD+DVD sets. In the same year, her 3rd album "Wonderful"marked the 4th at the Oricon Chart in the first week of its release. Needless to say, she became a queen of Japanese R&B.
On the remix album "too Wonderful" which was released in January 2004,she did a collaboration with Shinkiba ageHa @ STUDIO COAST. In November of the same year, she released another album called "Life is beautiful" which was themed as "R&B feat. JAZZ" and attracted not only R&B/ Hip Hop fans but also Jazz fans.
In March 2005, TAKAKO contributed to a dance-classics tribute album called "We Love Dance Classics Vol.1" - she mixed classic jazz and dance elements and created a fresh, modern R&B tune. Later on, she went on to experiment with latin and reggae influences and the effect was released in November on a single called "ROCK THE PARTY". As the first single for 2006, released "Call me", which is totally "this is DOUBLE"sound and is world standard classic R&B.
