About SIRIA GASTELUM, JOURNALIST
Siria Gastelum became a journalist when she was only ten years old. Siria started writing stories for newspapers in her birth city of Culiacan, Mexico. Then, she became a host of a local radio and television show for children. Siria studied communications in the University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico where she co-founded the first student newspaper. In 2003, she obtained a masters degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She has worked in both English and Spanish media in the US, Mexico and Canada.
