@Imbetterthanmost i will give it ago - but i'm not influenced by visuals. janine jansen displays a lot of facial emotion but none in her playing for example. Hahn is obviously more emotional in playing than her. I just think Oistrakh owns this piece (as he does most of them)

@mnemko she is not good at Beethoven period...her moonlight sonata is also a joke (compared to barenboim) and hammerklavier (compared to arrau) ...she cannot convey Beethoven's complex emotions. She is fine though for less profound pieces (Eg Grieg Concerto)

@Tompelicious i agree completely. This video shows the only part of appasionata that Barenboim wasn't perfect in. Barenboim has the best play of Moonlight Sonata and Tempest IMO and is very consistent throughout Beethoven
