Powerful music, damn good music. Amazing!

This was one of the few moments in my life I didn't envy Ash. Just hearing this and seeing Pokemon cartoons makes me wish I was a child again, or even better yet: a pokemon trainer.

Made me cry all those years ago, makes me cry now and probably will make me cry when I'm too old to tell a Pikachu apart from a Charmander ;)

@TheSuebear5 Gas prices should be high - that's what you get when the supply is low and the demand is high. America's gas taxes are amongst the lowest in the rich world, probably one of the reasons when America pollutes so much more than most other nations with comparable or better living standar...

@ProgressiveEccentric Absolutely agreed. I love Stravinsky and other 20th century composers. I absolutely adore minimalism or the experimental style of Reich and collegeus. Stravinsky is at least as much of a genius as Brahms.

But all of these are considered 'composers' in the traditional sense ...

So simple, yet so beautiful.

It's just... perfect. It combines the elegance of French Baroque with pure, honest emotions. One of the more moving pieces in the baroque repertoire and maybe in all of history.

If this doesn't put a smile on your face, you need a brain scan :)

I love Nintendo. They are responsible for loads of crappy titles, but series like Pokemon, Mario and Zelda are just classic. Everything about them is just... fun. Nice music, simple but oh so addicting gameplay and loads and load...

Amazing rendition. I learned to appreciate this piece by listening to Boulez recording. Some people play it so mellow and smooth it loses its power, others give it such sharp and rough edges it becomes unpleasant. This one strikes a perfect balance: it's haunting but never annoying.

@chooby3000 And is there something wrong with art for purely academic purposes? Minimal, post-minimal, atonal , dodecaphonetic, avant garde and many other styles of modern music might not be something you'd want to listen to for pleasure, but they thought us a lot about music theory and listening...

The most ironic combination of music and video I've seen in years! A great testimony to the awesome graphics of Empire as well.
