4. A lot of this Guru/Pendeker BS is either political in the East or appropriated in the West in lieu of a belt system! Certainly in Indonesia it is considered bad form to refer to oneself as a Guru or the likes. The real Gurus keep their mouths shut ;-)

I believe Guru Jak's family style originates from Java and it shows.
However when you get cultural diffusionalism at the Malay/Thai border you are going to get a lot of elbows and low kicks. Muay Thai has them, Silat has them....combine the two.... :)
