You didn't mention the most important point of boots like this. Once you wear through the sole, you can always have them resoled by your local cobler for about $20. No need to ever buy another pair!

Yeah, I didn't read sheet music either until recently. I just got one of those sight reading training apps and played with it when standing in line at the grocery store and whatnot. That helped a ton.

Please don't use scotch tape, it is not heat/fire safe. Cut off the damaged end of the cord, strip the wires, and resolder it into position, use shrink tube and electrical tape only.
