"Thus he went down, and the life struggled out of him;
and as he died he spattered me with the dark red
and violent driven rain of bitter savored blood
to make me glad, as gardens stand among the showers
of God in glory at the birthtime of the buds."
—Speech of Clytaemestra in Agamemnon, 458 B.C.
"They never see, whether for good or bad, more than one side of any question; and that is invariably, the one which first presents itself to them."
"We must make the best of it we can; and, if bad's the best, it's no fault of ours."
—Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist.
"To throw the cleverest people off balance you must use the simplest of means."
—Fyodor Dostoyekvsky, Crime and Punishment.
"Freedom is secured not by the fulfilling of men's desires, but by the removal of desire."
"Man is disturbed not by things, but by the views he takes of them."
"If, therefore, any be unhappy, let him remember that he is unhappy by reason of himself alone."
—Epictetus, ("Ἐπίκτητος") -- Stoic philosopher, (AD 55 -- AD 135.)
"For the living know that they will die;
But the dead know nothing,
And they have no more reward,
For the memory of this is forgotten.
Also their love, their hatred, and
their envy have now perished;
Nevermore will they have a share
In anything done under the sun."
—King James, Ecclesiastes, 8 ‒ 12 Solomon, 931 B.C.

". . . and as we leave Donne and Walton on the shores of Metahemeralism, we wave a fond
farewell to those famous chums of yore."

About Me:
The best way to handle people is to tell them what they want to hear.
One should take action even when it is not morally right.
It is safest to assume that all people have a vicious streak and it will come out when they are given a chance.
Honesty is not the best policy in all cases.
There are excuses for lying to others.
Generally speaking, people won't work hard unless they're forced to do so.
All in all, people does not appreciate humbleness and honesty as much as they try to make you think they do.
When you ask someone to do something for you, it is better to give reasons which carry more weight, rather than the real reasons for wanting it.
Most people who get ahead in the world does certainly not lead clean, moral lives.
Anyone who completely trusts anyone else is asking for trouble.
The biggest difference between most criminals and other people is that the criminals are stupid enough to get caught.
Most people are certainly not brave.
It is wise to flatter important people.
It is unfortunatley not possible to be good in all respects.
It is hard to get ahead without cutting corners here and there.
