In 1918, after four years of bitter and cruel slaugther, Peace dawned upon the world.

After the sudden elation born of the end of hostilities came the grim reminders of the realities of war for the Canadian Corps.

The Canadians had to remain in Germany on occupation duties until the Spanish Flu killed enough people before they were repatriated.

Goverments faced the difficult challenge of providing proper burial for hundred of thousands of soldiers who simply vanished on the battlefields. Meanwhile the maimed and scarred survivors would have to find ways to return to society and deal with the haunting ghosts of the war.
