About Me:
Shelley became interested in radio as a teen while attending her high school's Magnet Communications program in her hometown of Houston, Texas. After working at her college radio station, Shelley decided to make radio her career and soon went to work at KMJQ Houston, Majic 102--the station she listened to as a child. With this, her first professional radio gig, Shelley worked as a part-time Air-Personality at KMJQ while still in college. After a few months there, she moved across town to work at rival Hip-Hop station KBXX, 97.9 The Box, and soon got her first full-time on-air position as Midday Air-Personality. After six years, Shelley was promoted to KBXX's morning show, where she served as Co-Host and Entertainment Reporter. In 2001, New Yorks Z100 plucked Shelley from Houston and named her Midday Air-Personality. With this move, Shelley not only realized her childhood dream of living in New York City, but she also diversified her resume by moving from Hip-Hop Radio to Pop Radio!
In addition to being a National Radio Personality, Shelley is also a Television Personality and has made national appearances as a music, entertainment and Pop Culture expert on: CNN, MSNBC, BET, VH1, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, BBC Liquid News, PIX 11 New York and has been quoted in: Time Magazine, The Associated Press, The New York Daily News, People Magazine, AOL and many other publications.
Shelley has hosted several of New York's top events, such as New York City's Revlon Run/Walks fight against womens cancers--with top celebrity co-hosts Meredith Viera, Tiki Barber, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Renee Zellweger, Julianne Moore, Jesse L. Martin, James Gandolfini and Christopher Meloni--as well as the US Open Author Ashe Kids Day.
Shelley Wade has interviewed some of todays top entertainers and legendary acts--Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Samuel L. As a Voice Over Artist, Shelley narrated a N.A.S.A. documentary that played before the United Nations and also voiced national television and radio commercials for superstar artists like Beyonce, Ke$ha, DAngelo, Barry White, Missy Elliott, Lucinda Williams and many more.
This woman of many talents has been honored and named Best Midday Personality in New York City during the A.I.R. Awards. She has received the T.O.R.C.H. Program's L.I.G.H.T. Award for her work mentoring high school students who aspire to have careers in the Communications field and was featured in Marie Claire Magazine's Its Time To Talk Campaign against Domestic Violence.
Although Shelley has accomplished many things, she still has many dreams yet to be conquered. With her wit, personality and great smile there is nothing this ambitious woman is unable to achieve!
