First off, my name is Shelby Harvey and I just turned 14 years old. I'm still getting used to being an 8th grader, and I must say it's a tough thing to get used to!
Music has always played a huge role in my life as soon as I heard my first Tim Mcgraw song. Right then and there, I knew I wanted to be a country singer. I started learning the guitar last August, but for some reason I picked up on it REALLY quickly! It really has turned into my best friend to be honest. You know, since it cant tell all you're secrets to random people at school or criticize you for being different. I just love it.
Although I LOVE country music, I'll listen to practically anything if it has a good message.
As big a part music plays in my life, that's not the only thing I love doing. Every Wednesday, I go to the local animal shelter in my small town, and volunteer. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for animals, and I want to help them in any way, shape, or form that I can.
I also am very athletic. It's funny because, no one ever expects me to be the kind of girl that loves sports! But see , there is a reason why they say to never judge a book by it's cover;)
But most of the time, what I like to do in my free time, is write. Writing (I think) is the best way of expressing yourself. I write about my day, what I'm thinking, what I could do better at, and most of all...Songs!
To me, songs come to me at the most RANDOM times! Which kinda makes sense, considering I'm a very random person! haha:) But seriously, I could be at a restaurant, on a lake, a plane, at a friends house, at school, and even dream of a song! Which is by far the worst. It's funny because, I literally take my iPod everywhere with me just in case I have one of thoughs moments when you think of the perfect melody, or magical line that fits the situation perfectly. These moments are probably one of my favorites.
At the moment, things are going extremely well for me! I cant wait to show you guys everything that's been going on! Also, I would like to thank thoughs of you out there who have been here since the beginning. Cause for me, it's definitely just the beginning;)
