8 or 9 seconds at 5,000 feet? Its much more than that. Think around 30-35 seconds until death. or ~25 seconds before your ADD pops your reserve chute at 1,000 feet.

And did you end up doing tandem before doing AFF level 1?

Hey. Do you know anywhere I can find tips on Back Fly? I've just finished 10 minutes of back fly at my indoor skydiving place and holy cow, its really tough. Couldn't have any control of any sort. Got a good 3 minutes of being "stable", but otherwise a disaster. Thanks lots.
