The philosophy of this Christian site is to endeavor to examine other beliefs, world views and philosophies, in a respectful way. All individuals of differing beliefs disagree. To deny this is like denying the sun will rise tomorrow. It is only when we forget that we are all human, and brothers and sisters in Adam, that debate and disagreements become mean spirited and personal. Disagreement and mutual respect as individuals can go hand in hand. None of this means that truth needs to be compromised.

Main issues covered in this channel are:

Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormonism, Neo-Paganism, Occult, and The New Age Movement. Many other subjects and issues (mostly of an apologetics nature) are also covered . This channel is also currently venturing into, and exploring, the phenomena of the so called "New Atheism" and will be critiquing this. In relation to this the creation/evolution debate will also be discussed.

A NOTE ABOUT MESSAGES TO THIS CHANNEL:

Messages are most welcome and appreciated but please note:

I do my best to answer what I can but cant answer everything.

Number 1 priority is given to those who really want help and advice. Please try and keep it brief though and be patient for a reply.

Please dont send large copy and pastes. They will be totally ignored. Just send a URL if you want.

If you want a long drawn out text debate sorry, been there and done that too often and rarely have the time anymore (if you get one count yourself privaliged! [joke]). Respond with a video if you want. But even with video responses - I do them now and then but find that the sometimes endless responses and counter responses can end up becoming more to do with pride and ego and who has the last word. Endless tangled debates can get pretty petty and quite boring and confusing for others to view as well. For reasons such as these, I will seek to keep my video responses in orderly catergories, with clear headings (when possible) so that others will not get lost.

A further note on video responses: Happy to accept them (as you will see by perusing my channel) but if you abuse me personally, or have to lower yourself to ad-hominem attacks and ridicule, such videos will be totally ignored. Please ask yourself: If you cant help but insult people you disagree with is your argument really up to much? Disagreement is fine as it keeps life interesting. Dumb insults are not constructive.

PART 1 Chris, I have studied the pagan parallels between the so called pagan mythologies and Jesus and found them greatly wanting. Have you been watching Zeitgeist? It has been seriously debunked to the point that it is actually quite embarrassing for the makers of it I feel. You make some general comments about parallels but I am going to need to see some actual names. You do mention Dyonisis though so lets look at this. If by pottery you mean artifacts with inscriptions and images you mean the alleged crucifixion depiction on the cover of Freke and Gandy's Jesus Mysteries, scholars dismiss it as a forgery. Plus its very late too. Also the wine story is late. Whats your earliest reference for it? Secular scholar, G. W. Bowersock states that the Dyonisis water to wine story is considerably later than the gospel account of Jesus (see: Fiction as History: From Nero to Julian).

PART 2 Heres some questions for you Chris: Why would a group of devout Palestinian Jews borrowed the theology and teachings of a foreign cult and found a new religion based upon them? Dont you think that someone like the apostle Paul, who studied under Gamaliel, would recognize the story of Jesus as a mere a copy cat of earlier pagan myths, had they (the parallels not the religions themselves) actually existed prior to Christianity?
Shazoolo (2 days ago)
Hey Chris, if you don't want to talk about Jesus' existence and the historical quotes that's up to you. But remember that it was yourself who claimed Jesus didn't exist and that there was no significant evidence.
With regards to the George Washington example don't you think you are creating an unreasonable parallel? Washington was born in 1732 during a time when people were more literate and history was a wider discipline. What about someone from the ancient world? Alexander the Great would be a good example. What historical sources can you cite to prove that he existed?

Chris, you said that my whole channel is dedicated to attacking people and arguing. Not so, the channel is primarily an apologetics site based on Jude 3 which defends the faith. Like it or not Chris, other religions argue (if you want to use that word) regularly against Christianity and with each other. Christians in turn defend and argue as do people of other religions defend and argue (including yourself ). My specific comment to you with regards to arguing was actually to do with fighting, as per the angry and threatening comments that were made between yourself and another poster on your channel. For what its worth too it was one of genuine concern for you and your health, both mental and possibly physically (if, with regards to the latter, an actual physical confrontation ensued).

Shazoolo, you dedicate your whole channel to attacking people and arguing, and you're gonna tell me that arguing is not good for the soul? I wish I could avoid arguments. Since you bring it up, Jesus' life is based on other Pagan Gods. Despite what some Christians say, we have pottery that depicts the resurrection of Dionysus and that pottery predates the time of Jesus. Dionysus also turned water into wine before the time of Jesus. There were also other Pagan Gods before him who were born of virgins, walked on water and healed people. I am willing to accept the possibility that Jesus was a man who started telling stories one day, a religious leader, but proving him to be God's only son is quite another thing, and it can't be done. If we had hardcore evidence that he existed, then denying his existence would be like denying the existence of George Washington. You won't find anyone who will deny that Washington existed because we have hardcore evidence.

Hi ManicDepressive101, i don't really "see" beings from the spirit world anymore but have met them in the past, before I was a Christian, and they are very real and filled with total hate for humanity and God. I have only 'seen' them in the demon possessed. In a demonized person I have witnessed supernatural strength, incredible psychic abilities, transformed personality (radically different from the individual that the spirits inhabit), and incredible supernatural knowledge and abilities. Thankfully, the Lord Jesus is the victor over such entities and all things in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, must one day declare that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

As a Christian though, I have wrestled with invisible demonic entities. If one is truly trusting in the Lord Jesus such parasitical beings must submit at His name.

Hey PLC (or tannhaus) I can do far better than a mere 3 non-biblical historical sources for the life of Jesus. How about 10? What say we start with the Tacitus reference?

I feel it only fair to mention that I am well versed in the objections that you are likely to raise for all the sources, but hey, feel free to offer up your strongest objections.

I fail to see what the relevance is of a Christian site that was brought up here by yourself PLC and referred to as garbage. I have no intention of visiting that site and need not do so anyway. May I remind you that it your camp that has pasted information from a dubious atheist site with an out of context citation by Justin Martyr's?

I am also keen to discuss the related (false) claim that Jesus life is based on earlier mythological pagan gods.

Wont be about as much over the next week though due to festive and family matters. Merry Christmas.

Jesus is the most price persons of the human race, and he was only half human. The son of man, representing his humanity, the son of God, representing his deity. Half man, half God. Anyway, he wasn't born during the winter months. Shazoolo, how often to do you see beings from the spirit world. Since you once were into the occult. And I know since you're a christian, demons will try to attack you every once and anwile.

And, no matter how much you try to twist it, I never came on here "making the claim Jesus didn't exist" as you try to say. I, in one sentence, expressed doubts as to whether he existed or not...to which I received a grilling and pointed out the fact we have no evidence from his lifetime and only hearsay thereafter. Therefore, there is no way of knowing whether he existed or not. Absence of proof is not proof of absence. You can't twist that into something it isn't...it's still up.
