NCS, lip reading is about 90% context. The phrase "island view" is almost identical to "I love you," so a lip reader would need to know the gist of the conversation to know what you're saying.

HCBailly and GeminiLaser do awesome post-commentary. HC will react as if he's doing live commentary, and it keeps him from accidentally swearing. He's got a video showing how much he *can* swear if he's frustrated.

The sai isn't practical because you're not going to be carrying them with you unless you're on your way to/from the dojo. If you have sai with you normally, you're clearly expecting trouble which means you should rethink why you're going out at all. A roll of quarters or a pen is a more practical...
