@Bazzabazeman it helps with making sweeps sound cleaner if you dont have perfect technique, but only few in the entire globe will ever even achieve absolutely perfect technique to the point where dampening the open strings with a cloth or something isn't helpful to them
good job on the solo man!...

I started playing Guitar on the 4th of January 2010 as a new years resolution, which quickly became an eye opener to a whole new side of me, and a whole new lifestyle, although it wasnt until the 17th of January 2010 I started to pick it up properly to learn it. I started with a 3/4 acoustic guitar with nylon strings, then after 3 weeks of playing I bought an electric Stratocaster copy from gear4music. over the time since I started I have built up my collection, I am still building it up ;DI am going to be uploading videos of my covers.
My Gear
Guitars:
My beautiful baby, Westfield Les Paul, with EMG 81/60s (bridge/neck) installed, solid tone, solid as fuck guitar, been dropped more then once by careless fuckers of girlfriends
My awesome Jackson Rhoads (RIP), perfect for insane rhythm less of a thick tone then my Les Paul however..
An Axl Stratocaster, purchased based purely on the fact it has a double coil with the same magnet in it as an EMG, I was naive in the shop and thought it looked amazing with its lightning blue paintwork and would sound great due to the big ''EMG STYLED PICKUPS'' sticker on it, it doesnt sound great.. but it plays real nice..
Amps
Gear4music 15 watt pile of crap!
but i love it! it sounds so great for a little amp that came in with a guitar for £80, like the amp is £15 worth of amp, complete pile of shit, but man it sounds neat fora £15 amp!
Artec G25R 25 watt amp.
Saw this in a shop, decided there on the spot i liked it, so i bought it, looking back, i dont see how i liked it, but back then, id had only my shitty little £15 amp for 10 months or so!
My rhythm guitarist is very generous and lets me borrow his Marshall MGFX loads! which i think sounds great, loads of people slam MG's but they are pretty neat practice amps, and they rape the shit outta the spider IV's, gives a great thick tone, with nice sounding effects...
my beast of a fender, The only setback for this £1000 worth of amp (limited handwired edition), is it has no distortion built into the head, its a pure clean amp, it sounds amazing, I am in the process of saving up for a dime distortion.. run one of them through this pure valve, handwired, beasty machine... with my EMG's on my les paul on the other end of the wires.. pshhhhh ;)
@ZedLeppelin237 dude you seriously claiming half of slipknots music is computer generated? :L they sample stuff but its not half comp generated, alot of skill is required to play slipknots music to a performable standard, not alot of soul, but alot of skill... nirvana, not so much, i fucking love...
