My own opinion on Ra's death. Bruce needed to save Ra's in the mountains cause Ra's would have died due to Bruce's actions. Batman was justified in NOT saving Ra's cause Ra's death came from his own actions of trying to destroy Gotham, knowing Batman would try to stop him.

The sequel isn't nearly as good, and even openly contradicts elements of this film. There is also too much fanwanking in the sequel.
