About Me:

3 years ago I started posting videos with the hopes of sharing buttercream techniques and dispelling myths ("That kind of cake can only be done in fondant"). 62 videos later...I think I accomplished my goal, it's time to close this chapter of my life. This decision has been a year in the making so you can see it wasn't an easy one.

Those who have been watching awhile know I have been struggling with tendinitis. It originally began in my elbows but is now in my hands, knees, and feet as well. I have been to a couple doctors, had several tests run, seems as though the only answer is rest, exercise, and patience.

Because of the tendinitis I have tried taking breaks from caking, banished myself from nearly all typing (major aggravator of the tendons), but I'm still not getting relief. Some days are fine, others it's all I can do just to get my day to day work done.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! It has been a wonderful experience talking to cakers from around the world :D

I will be leaving the videos up, and my facebook page (just do a search for Serious Cakes). Those who have asked questions, I'm sorry that I haven't answered, again, typing is painful :( However, I have a ton of information just in my videos and the notes underneath, you might find the answers you're looking for.

All my best,

I just found your page and love it so far. I will be watching all your videos. :) I hope you can somehow find a solution to your tendonitis so that you can still do what you love to do. maybe they need to come up with some sort of a computer that will post what you say instead. lol no typing involved! lol May God bless you and your family.

We all miss you and hope you feel better soon! You've inspired me to start caking too, and I can't thank you enough for helping me find out something that love doing, and that's baking cakes and decorating. I'm praying for you and I wish you well :) <3

I love all of your videos!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I am so glad you are back!! Hope the pain in your arms can be controlled. I was looking at your recipe. You should treat the sugar as a wet ingredient and add it to the yeast egg mixture. The yeast needs the to feed the yeast to help it rise. Also I would let it sit for 3-5 min to make sure the yeast is activated. Yeast must not be old and I keep mine in the freezer so it lasts a long time! Make these again and let us know how it comes out!! I am truly a fan!!
