Yes, it's motion-based. But it can also see non-moving targets. Kinda hard to explain - really just anything that is different from the stored background counts as a target. Anyways, good luck with your own projects!

Bob! hey, i just wanted to say that i'm a huge fan of your work!! i'm a complete n00b (the "Terminator Vision" was my first Processing project) but eventually i intend to take on something more complex like what you're doing. i've been working with microcontrollers for the last few years (gesture-based musical instruments, actually) but i'm beginning to see the advantages of using a more powerful platform. i haven't had a chance to check out your sentry gun code yet, but i assume it's primarily motion-based? i'm interested in exploring machine vision further, especially given its virtually ~limitless~ potential. drop me a line any time. cheers! ~P

@ramerocamaroz28 Sorry, no tutorial for that yet. I have heard that surveryor tripods are good for it.
The way i did it was by making a solid block of wood, a few inches thick, then drilling large holes into it at angles, and inserting the ends of 3 pieces of copper pipe into the holes for legs. I held the pipes in with screws. Hope that helps!

I really want to build one of these but i have no idea on how to make the tripod/base. Would you recommend any prebuilt tripods or have a step by step tutorial on how to build the tripod?
