Selena Marie Gomez was born in July 22, 1992 in New York City, NY to parents Amanda Cornett known as Mandy and Ricardo Gomez. When she was at a young age the family moved from New York to a little town called Grand Prairie. Selena's mother Mandy gave birth at a very young age of 16. Selena started acting on Barney and Friends as Gianna in 2001. Right then Selena knew her talent was to act. Poorly they dropped her from the episodes after two years. 2003 came and she had a very little role in the movie Spy Kids 3: Game Over. In 2005 Selena got a bigger role as Julie in Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire and in 2006 she played Emily Grace Garcia in Brain Zapped. Sel guest starred as Gwen in The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody and as Hannah Montana's rival the nasty Mikayla in Hannah Montana. Sel's awesome talent headed her roles in two Disney episodes. But neither series was picked up until 2007 when Selena got to play Alex Russo in the series Wizards Of Waverly Place which she auditioned for 3 times!! Mandy Cornett is an Italian woman from Dallas. Ricardo Gomez Sel's father is from New Mexico. Selena's parents divorced in 1997. Selena's favorite subject is Science and her fave sport is Basketball.
