The reason for the plant gettin bushy has nothing to do with light but because you hav cut off the dominant meristem cells causing the rest of the tips to grow evenly and all retrieve equal amounts of nutrition.

thers nothing wrong with having a plant around kids its not going to harm anyone especially weed thats non toxic and impossible to over dose on. and i think it could have died from to much fertilizer you will get wilting just like that as if u havnt watered it
