About this user

Huge NASA and Apollo fan with a lot of Firefly and Serenity thrown in. My hope is to introduce the Apollo program to school age kids in my local area. I usually am invited to my kids school once a year but I hope to expand it to more schools as long as my health holds up. I feel a burning need to let these kids know about these amazing men before they are no longer with us here on earth. The kids need to know beyond Neil Armstrong, which is all school covers. Thankfully they soak up all I have to say and show them like giant sponges. I'll keep adding to my Apollo 12 collection if only to have more to share with them! I also enjoy watching the videos on YouTube my teenage kids show me, like Charlie the Unicorn!

Worked as a nursing home activities coordinator/recreational therapist until I had my first daughter. Was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease so I've been a stay at home mom since then. Now it's mostly a stay at mom with cats kind of job. But hey, I happy to be here on this good earth and with an awesome family too- no way I deserve that much good!My dream job would be to work as an assistant to Gene Kranz, he is the kindest man I've ever meet besides my husband, the love of my life!

Interests

NASA early days, though I do follow space program now as well. I am obsessed with Alan Bean from Apollo 12, he was the 4th man to walk on the moon and an amazing painter and inspirational speaker. My "image" for this site is a painting of his, hope he doesn't mind. I also met and come close to worshipping Gene Kranz, they don't make many gentlemen like him anymore. I hope to continue to travel to see them many times again! And hopefully one day meet John Aaron the smartest man to work in Mission Control!
