Hello, my member name is SeaLizzie. My formal name is Elizabeth and one of my nicknames is Lizzie and I love the sea. So there you have it. However I do not get to the sea as much as I used to because I have chronic neurological lyme disease and I can't stand the sound of waves crashing over and over. Part of neuro lyme symptoms is an increase in sensitivity to loud noises, fragrances, crowds and light or photo-sensitivity. That is the short list.

Lyme disease is a serious disease and is now the #1 fastest growing infectious disease in the nation!

I am a member of lymeblog.com and if you have lyme disease I would like to encourage you to go to lymeblog.com website and PLEASE share your lyme story. Every single lyme story needs to get out there so the public can get a better picture of the devastation lyme can cause & how it is so often misdiagnosed with other serious diseases like ALS,MS, Parkinsons and Lupus to name just a few. The long list is daunting.

Also we need your story out there so the hundreds of thousands of people who are being newly diagnosed with lyme disease or have been sick for years and only recently was diagnosed with lyme, will see quickly that they are not alone. That there are others that have the same odd and random symptoms and have had awful experiences with Drs not acknowledging lyme or even considering lyme as a possibility of why a person is sinking deep into illness.

Too many Drs are either misdiagnosing lyme or telling the patient they are just depressed or they give the patient a "waste basket" diagnosis of Fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome.

Some Drs will test for lyme by using the old unreliable dinosaur ELISA test which gives out way to many false negatives.

The test needed is called a Western Blot and the lab that has the best test in the world is Igenex lab in Ca. This is also a good place to send a tick in that has bitten you. There tests are much more sensitive to the lyme antibodies.

If you think you want a Western Blot by Igenex, go to Igenex.com. They will send a FREE lyme test kit complete with serum vial and Dr's orders sheet. All you need is to find a Dr who will order the test for you. There is a fee that you pay with credit card. The kit includes a return FedEX envelope to return to Igenex lab.

Getting a Dr to do this is not always easy. They might not agree to fill the order. Or they will talk you into having a Western Blot at there own lab. This is not advised!

My lyme story which I posted in 2005 has over 6000 readers already. How many of those I have helped I don't even have a guess and it does not matter. But I do know it has helped.

Lyme disease is the worst environmental problem of this century. Children are getting lyme right now as this is the season, March through the end of July when the tiny nymph tick is looking for a warm body be it another animal like a deer or a rodent like rats & mice and small birds. Now scientist are testing small birds like Chickadees and Juncos and finding that these small ground birds are carrying the ticks to city's. Live in a city and have lyme? Most likely a little birdie dropped it off. What about mosquitoes? Do you know they too have been tested and that they carry the borrelia bacteria?

Don't want to believe it, go ahead and pretend you didn't just read this and live your live. I wish you well.

After 10 years of battling lyme I have had to make a hard decision. That decision is to help those who want to be helped or educated and let go of those who prefer to live in denial that they or there children could never get lyme.
