Third Age Total War: Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What do I need to play this mod?

You must own both "Medieval II: Total War" and its expansion, "Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms." You only need to have one campaign of "Kingdoms" installed, and it's recommended that you have the official 1.05 patch for Kingdoms.

2. Where can I download the Third Age mod?

Go to this url for Third Age Total War, hosted at the Total War Center website:

Then scroll down to the sticky threads, where it says "Third Age - Total War 2.1 Released!" That will have all the prior versions of Third Age and their various patches that you need to download. I'd recommend downloading all of them and installing in order, otherwise it's hard to guarantee installation results.

Once you've downloaded, move the files to your main Medieval II: Total War directory and unzip them. Starting with the main files and going in order with the patches, click the installation exe. files (which should be obviously labeled with "Third Age" or "TATW")

3. One of my downloaded mod files seems to be corrupt! What can I do?

I would try again from a different mirror site, which the Third Age forum thread should provide.

4. I'm still having problems! Who can I ask?

Try posting your question in the Third Age Total War forum, because the guys there will probably respond much more quickly than I will -- and they know their game better than I do.

5. What do you use to record your videos?

I use Fraps. There's a free trial that lets you record for 30 seconds at a time, but I bought the full version here:
