Oh yes, definitely recognized the area. My son lives in Nicholasville! Which is now practically joined with Lexington. I loved in that area for over 25 years, now am in the city. The river cliffs were really something.

Yeah, the river scenes run from lock 7 to lock 8. I used to spend two weeks in the early summer before I went home to Britain, and 1-2 two weeks in the fall when I came back for schooling.

I so love the area. The windmills restuart, drive-in, swim-club, motel and the horse farm I have in the book are based on a very real place that once was there, though not quite as remove as I have it in the book. The nearby town of "Leesburg" is a thinly disguised Nicholasville, which used to be about 20 miles from Lexington.

The area just stayed in my heart and imagination, so I wanted to share my Kentucky half with everyone.

I wondered if people would recognize the scenery!

Deborah, your video is fantastic. I know those Kentucky scenes very well. One in particular looks very close to the bend in the river that I could from my house, at one time, between lock 6 and 7. I've ridden past those palisades several times on a boat. Thanks for those memories.
